Toyota Goes Back to the Future with the Mirai, Tacoma

In case you missed it, October 1st, 2015 was “Back to the Future Day,” the day that Marty McFly hopped in Doc Brown’s time-traveling DeLorean and went to the land of Jaws 19, Pepsi Perfect, and hoverboards, AKA the year 2015. While we don’t have any flying cars on our lot here at Roseville Toyota, we do have some pretty futuristic vehicles. That’s we’re so excited about Toyota’s tie-in video to the movies, which stars Michael J. Fox, Christopher Lloyd, the Toyota Mirai, and a movie-inspired Tacoma pickup.

Check out the video for yourself here:

It’s fitting that Toyota make this tie-in video, considering the futuristic nature of the hydrogen fuel cell-powered Mirai. As Bill Fay, Toyota division group vice president and general manager, said, “This Back to the Future-inspired milestone has taken 30 years to arrive, and Toyota has been developing hydrogen fuel cell technology almost that long. There’s no better way to generate excitement for a turning point in automotive history than with a film that celebrated the possibilities of the future.”

Though the Toyota Mirai doesn’t turn trash into fuel quite as easily as Doc Brown’s Mr. Fusion device, it’s still an amazing vehicle, and one that we’re very proud of. And don’t forget Marty’s Tacoma. If that doesn’t scream the 80s, we’re not sure what does.

Speaking of the Tacoma, if you’d like to get one that’s a bit more with the times, we can help with that. (Hover-converting your old road car into a skyway flyer, on the other hand, is slightly more difficult…) Be sure to contact us today or swing by the dealership, and we’ll schedule you a test drive. Keep in mind, where you’ll be going, you’ll still need roads.
